Condition: All three volumes are firmly and squarely bound in the original red cloth, there is minor bumping and rubbing to the edges, there are some very minor marks to the boards, the gilt lettering to the spine of the 'Two Towers' has tarnished slightly and there is slight rubbing to the edge of the rear board on the 'Fellowship'. The text blocks are slightly age toned, the endpapers more so, with scattered foxing, the topstains are faded, there is a neatly written gift inscription to the front endpaper of 'The Fellowship' dated 1954.

'The Fellowship of the Ring' is a 1st impression.'The Two Towers' is a 2nd impression.'The Return of the King' is a 1st impression. A very nice set indeed, particularly 'The Fellowship of the Ring', which with a print run of only 3000 copies is a genuine rarity, it is also pleasing to have them in their original cloth.
