First Edition. First Impression. Hardback in unclipped/unpriced dustwrapper. One of the hardest to find Tolkien books. Condition (see guide below): Very Good Clean, unmarked pages; just a hint of tanning to the page edges. One page only (p123) has been folded at some point as a bookmark but is now flattening out nicely. All the other pages are exceptionally crisp and fresh. Binding is tight and strong; corners and edges nicely sharp. The board faces have some areas of grey-ish discolouration (more so to the front than the back, where it is barely discernible); cause unknown but possibly dust. The spine is unaffected by this. The wrapper has shelfwear/creasing along the edges and most of the corners have been rubbed but there are no nicks or tears. There is light scuffing/and some impression marks to the surfaces of the wrapper but in my view they don't detract markedly from the overall condition. The rear wrapper flap has been creased and stretched out of it's original position due to it having been used as a bookmark at some point but the effects of this should decrease over time. I've provided a number of photographs to complement the description and am happy to provide more on request if any further clarification is needed. Book will be posted securely in a box anywhere in the world using the appropriate signed-for service. Book Grading System for Used Books FINE - The book is excellent condition. Closer examination may show small signs of ownership and storage. NEAR FINE -Books in this condition will be better than VERY GOOD but slightly poorer than FINE VERY GOOD -Slightly less than near fine condition. Minor faults as detailed. GOOD - It is obvious that the book is second-hand, however apart from faults described, the book will be complete in all respects, unless described otherwise. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
