Hobbit house

Subject: Hobbit house

There's an article here -

http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/l ... om-the-shire-8412635.html

-with more, here -

http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/l ... html?action=gallery&ino=8

- about someone who's had a house built in his garden for his Tolkien collection which, it is reported here and elsewhere, includes books and 'manuscripts'. The bookshelves in this picture don't seem remarkable (but then I wouldn't show any of my good stuff, either).

I was wondering what reporters here and elswhere on the net mean by 'manuscripts'? I know what I mean when I say 'Tolkien manuscripts', but reporters seem to want to convey an idea of something mysterious....

I'd be interested to hear/see what else is in that collection (apart from those God-awful figures in the rafters).

:)
