Sorry that we did not give you an instant answer to your question, instead of complaining you could have looked for the value yourself, the two main marketplaces for Tolkien books are Ebay and Abebooks

Abebooks has the 1982 book for about £80, but this the top end of the market because of Abebooks fees, so you may get up to £50 for selling the book.
