"For sale is this rare and highly collectable copy of The Hobbit (There and Back again) by J.R.R. Tolkein.

It is the Eight impression and in very good condition commensurate with its age. The spine and pages are in very good condition with only a tiny amount of foxing at some page edges. There are no rips or tears - this copy has only been read just once.
"

As discussed before I am not that familiar with J.R.R. Tolkein's works, but I do like his website (shameless plug http://www.tolkeinsociety.org/).

Let's assume this is by J.R.R. Tolkien, how can you state that it has only been read once, how do you know?
