This was listed for a long, long while; while a few other copies came & went, for far less. Do you think this genuinely sold (@ Buy-it-now) for $599 (~£373)?

2003.Folio Society Limited Edition Tolkien Silmarillion Leather Science Fiction

Nothing remarkable about the number or anything. Always curious as to why people just suddenly buy copies at this price when other copies have been available.
