A new edition of a Spring Harvest

Subject: A new edition of a Spring Harvest
by Trotter on 2012/9/24 10:39:31

In 1918 Tolkien edited with his friend Christopher Wiseman 'A Spring Harvest'

From tolkienbooks.net

"This anthology of poetry by G.B. Smith contains a short introductory note by J.R.R. Tolkien discussing the dates and circumstances in which the poems were composed.

Smith’s poems were prepared for publication by Tolkien and Christopher Wiseman, the remaining members of the TCBS, while R.W. Reynolds, their former schoolmaster, arranged for the volume to be published by Erskine MacDonald."

On Jason Fisher's blog http://lingwe.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/a-late-spring-harvest.html

"This appendix is a nice treat, but it isn’t the exciting development. Think of this as just a hors d’oeuvre to whet your appetites, because Atherton prefaces his appendix with this surprising announcement: “A new edition of A Spring Harvest is forthcoming, edited by Douglas A. Anderson.” Well, how about that! I wrote to Doug, and he confirmed this is true. So we should shortly be able to read the complete collection, along with, I am sure, some very useful and interesting background material. Keep your eyes on Doug’s blog for a formal announcement to come."
