The signature looks authentic (and I've seen a few); and if someone were going to forge a signature, why do it on a book like this, instead of something written by Tolkien? It looks to me like the owner of this book encountered Tolkien at the college, had this book in hand, and asked him for his autograph. -- Carl F. Hostetter |
