Tolkien by Deagol on 2008/10/26 9:21:36 I have seen a letter from Rayner Unwin to Houghton Mifflin (dated 9 Nov 1962) in which he offers the book to them for publication in the US. It was accompanied by a proof copy. HM turned it down as it was 'too scholarly'. |
