I am glad that most of the Tea is making it to all of you. Sorry to hear about the customs snafu(s). The boxes came just taped at the edge (not shrink-wrapped) because the tea bags themselves should be in a sealed foil bag inside the box.

You've caught me out (I think a lot of people don't know today that _ means _italics_), missed one the first time round, so had to edit it twice.

Trotter!, you damn nit-picker!

That's the way Wayne (I always assumed; presuming the format didn't accommodate italics) typed titles. I'm sure he'll correct me on this!

i.e.
_J.R.R. Tolkien, Artist & Illustrator_
_The Two Towers_
etcetera

You couldn't just have edited it once?

'Tolkien on Tolkien' freely intermingles Tolkien's ?1955 autobiographical statement prepared for Houghton Mifflin and a December 1963-January 1964 letter to Nancy Smith. Letters publishes the statement on pp. 218-20, and on p. 221 three paragraphs from the letter, not so noted and misdated. We have an analysis of the Diplomat piece in the 'Reader's Guide' volume of The J.R.R. Tolkien Companion and Guide.
