Jlong, if you are skeptical about these "Higgins" you have not too much idea about Tolkiens life. These letters are original. Dr. Higgings was his family doctor and they gone several times on holidays to Milford.
In order to know if a Toliken signature is original you must do a very deep study on it, any other opinion are very frivolous....

Thanks for letting others know of the BB calendar. It's their first since 1994, and they got Tim Kirk to contribute (which I regard as a coup!) As Nancy Martsch noted, proceeds benefit BB. If you don't subscribe, you should. Annual subscription is cheap, but the newsletter has excellent articles and lots of useful info. I ordered my copy last month!

I have a question -

>Festival in the Shire is a three day event that will cater to the diverse interests of collectors, academics and those who simply enjoyed the books and films. It will be held in the heart of ‘Tolkien country’, Machynlleth the ancient historical capital of Wales, with its rich Celtic traditions and stunning location in the hills.<

Can I respectfully ask - in what way is Machynlleth 'the heart of Tolkien country?
