John Rateliff posts on the new release of Mr Bliss (the title mentions the Art of the Hobbit but that will be in his next post).

I think it has been re-listed together with the release of the Art of the Hobbit, the Pocket Hobbit etc.
I bought my set 2 weeks ago from The Book Depository UK

What impressions are in the set?

Stu

I can now answer this one myself:

Vol 1 - 6th Impression
Vol 2 - 5th Impression
Vol 3 - 5th Impression.

Hello, everyone. I have listed a few new items on ebay, including a US first printing LotR set. Please take a look. Thanks!

Personally, I don't like first editions that are rebound. I would never pay that kind of money for this set. If I were to spend that much money, I'd be looking for the original bindings and dust jackets.

But, of course, I don't have this kind of money lying around either way.

Anyone saw this LOTR set on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.nl/itm/310290814645?s ... 423.l2649#ht_20822wt_1163

Not that I want to spend the money but is GBP 2.750,00 a reasonable price?

Another question: Most LOTR rebindings are in red leather probably because the originals were red. Now I have this perhaps -crazy- notion that I rebinding in white leather, emulating the white dustwrappers would look really good. Are there examples of such rebindings?
