I just read Deagol's link. His is the authority on this and his reference to one in a domestic is mine. I did buy it from the UK, though so possibly some were used at 'home'.

I too would be interested if not gone already. I have two different- one in an export wrapper and one in a UK wrapper. they both have the same number of pages with typescript- 32 I believe. I believe there is a third variety with a different page count- I think Deagol had some info on these that I read a long time ago on an older forum. They were used as display/dummy copies in Canada and possibly the UK. Which is this one?

Thanks remy, you've sated my curiosity! :) So this was only corrected in the first paperback edition, after all.

Wayne and Christina: Thanks for answering my other question(s) in your post!
Sounds like I need to start shopping for the Descriptive Bibliography in earnest. But I'll probably wait for the second edition...quite a few things have been published since 1992, after all...
Guess it's still "premature to predict a date of publication" (quoting from your website)? Now I'm being hasty again...

Cheers,

felagund

I agreed with most of what you say Stu.

I just thought "glorious awfulness" was a little uncalled for; & stating that the most worthwhile thing about this book was Tolkien's letter --well, that's a little unfair. If that's what he thinks, why buy it?, since he clearly dislikes Blok's work with a passion.
