(I'm sure someone will confirm what number we're now on.) When I had to send my faulty copy back (at publication time), I received #153; instead of 50-odd. When I contacted HC in late February this year, sales had only crawled up to #194. Pretty slow I think; perhaps reflecting the slight overpriced nature (remember it was originally meant to be ~£250). Interested to hear how far they've got after a good year of sales...

10% discount would have been nice on the new Tales PR; unfortunatley this email came out after most people had bought it though! Just received mine tonight; haven't opened yet tho'...

Nice looking book. Disappointing that it is not also hand-numbered (as claimed on the FAQ section of the website), especially as I ordered as soon as the site was up and therefore didn't get the discount! Unfortunately Alan Lee is quite a prolific signer, so I don't think these signed copies will prove to be any more desirable than the twenty-pounds-cheaper copy from Amazon.

Still, looks nice and that's the main thing.

Can't wait to receive it...

It's a very beautiful design, better than I had expected.
The emblem has a beautiful mixture of colours, and the emblem is designed great too of course
They did more effort on this one I think than the deluxe editions of the Children of Húrin and The Silmarillion...

No it does not have a cutout hole on the slipcase.

Here are some pictures.

Great to hear you got your book, Trotter. One question... Does it happen to have the nice hand-cut hole on the side like the Hobbit and LotR had, or is it solid like the CoH and Silmarillion?

Also, would love to see photos! I am afraid I must wait for my copy as I am stuck getting the Amazon version since Tolkien.co.uk will not ship this one to the U.S.
