I would be proud as well. I recently found later printings of first editions of the ROTK and TTT online, and am anxiously awaiting their arrival (they will be the only first editions in my collection).

This week I received the 1st/4th of RotK, so I didn't order the 'original' edition of Seinte Iuliene after all. Perhaps I will buy it too, but I'm still doubting. I found it for approx. £55 with original cover - not rebound like the one I mentioned and showed earlier in this thread - but it's a lot of money to me...
A photo of RotK is coming, but it's not that special to you guys, I think. (For me it is, as it is my first LotR 1st edition so I'm quite proud of it.)

I got myself a copy too, and there was a post card accompanying it from the secretary with some information. I'll post a photo or scan of it as soon as I can, but here's the text on the back of it:

"This building is very close to 214 Alcester Road so JRRT would have known it well. We (the Moseley Society, I suspect) also look after an ice house and the entrance is very hobbit-hole-ish. JRRT was known to stay nearby with a friend when a teenager so we tell people its the original hobbit-hole."

I know the seller of this item very well and have a lot of respect for ADC, but would anyone really want to have this item in their house, at this price

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lord-Rings-Oak- ... es_EH&hash=item4cf1e0717e

As an aside, I thought I had to mention this one as well

A VERY RARE CHANCE TO GRAB SUCH A COLLECTABLE EDITION A TRUE COLLECTORS ITEM VERY COLLECTABLE AND A GREAT INVESTMENT

I'm struggling with this item, from the pictures the box set looks pretty good but the Dust Jackets are in appalling condition, so probably not the same set of books that came in the box set.

And another one, second edition's with accompanying dust jackets
