Does anyone collect Tolkien Journals and Fanzines and if so have you noticed the increase in prices recently on Ebay? The UK Tolkien Society journals in particular seem to have reached ridiculous prices on Ebay.

I have only been on Ebay for a few years now and I used to pick these journals up for a few dollars each, now early editions of Amon Hen are going for over $100 US.

Has anyone seen prices rise like this before?

I'm hoping that they will eventually return to a more affordable price so I can complete my set.

Also, has anyone managed to obtain any copies of Tyalie Tyelellieva??
I have been trying to get any editions (I think there were 19) but they seem to be quite tough to get.

Regarding my last post.... I am not sure that it belongs under this topic, as it has nothing to do with a signed edition. Without starting a new thread, I thought this was the best place for it. Maybe with the release of the new book coming up soon, it is time to start a dedicated thread to the Children of Hurin. It is not often that a new Tolkien book of this magnitude is released!

There is a photo up on Amazon.com (U.S.A.) of the deluxe edition Children of Hurin.

I thought it was a bit curious that the Houghton Mifflin version looks a lot like the Harper Collins version. This was not the case with 50th Ann. Lord of the Rings. I wonder what the differences are. For one thing, the price is a lot less. Amazon lists the Houghton version at $47.25 USD, while the Harper Collins UK version is listed currently at £42.00 GBP (or about $80.70 USD).

I got the story behind the 1983 Antioch that I had been looking for for years from the seller. Seems she collects cookbooks and it was tucked in between some in a lot that she bought at a garage sale. She was sorting out the unwanted ones and the calendar in her throw away pile. However, she decided to eBay it thinking that someone might like collect unicorn illustrations (which is what is on the cover). One man's trash . . .

Well done Dior! That was a nice gesture... Does anyone know by chance more about "Remy"... he has done some posts here. But I can't find more info and wish to contact him (her).
