Seems a fine place to post it - welcome Khamul! Good to have you here.

And sorry for the registration problems, I still think it is a subtle bug on my side of things. All you other new users who can't log in, use the Contact Us link to let me know! The more reports, the faster I can fix this issue...

(Wasn't sure where this post could/should appropriately be placed.)

My first post; hopefully one of many. Have been keenly visiting (& reading) this site for a long while now. Couldn't get registered via my home computer though (AOL & Norton thwarted any attempts!). At last I've managed to register using another computer. Hopefully I'll be able to log-on at home!

Great site Rowns!

Cheers!

I was poking around Deagol's website before I noticed he had already replied. But in any event, I thought his page on the 1994 Sir Orfeo should be referenced here as well, as it has some interesting information about it.

The lack of known copies of Sir Orfeo may be due in part to the fact that Tolkien's name does not appear in it, so very few people would know what they were looking at.

I think that the other reason the Sir Orfeo tends to get over looked is because it is an edited text rather than an original composition.

I only know of one copy offered for sale and that was quite some time ago.

BTW
My article at TolkienBooks.net on Songs for the Philologists was updated recently - it now has a complete listing of the contents, a couple of new images and few extra snippets of information supplied by the lucky owner of one copy.

Indeed, I must agree wholeheartedly, Jeremy was a wonderful addition to the dealers room at MC 38 and hopefully he and his hobbits can make it east next year, I particulary love to continuously clean him out of his Native American books and material
