Hello all

Just spotted this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Tolkien-Signed-Lord-of-the-Rings-1st-UK-

Recognise the dealer ? - mmmmmmmmmmm i wonder if it could be genuine?

I think we all need ot start reporting these dealers on mass. Maybe then ebay will start listening or maybe I am being too optomistic.

He will be selling Reindeer drawings next!

Does this cast doubt on their validity?

I have not done any "deep study" on this but I don't think we want to start any rumours that the imaginery Dr Higgins knew the real Mrs Gasch, though they have both had fake letters addressed to them signed in blue ink.

The reindeer drawing is wonderful and this is just on a shopping list, Pauline really was a superb artist.

I think most people on this site will know what a podcast is, but just in case it is an audio or video file that you can download to your computer or portable device and listen to -Trotter

Portable device? Not sure I have one of these...
(seriously, I don't)

Thanks for information Trotter. Had been meaning to invest some time listening to some of the stuff out there for a while now. Think I'll start with The History of Rome though...

Aye, watching Antiques Road Show, as you do, and look what turns up. Tolkien also got another mention later on. First thing I thought was bet someone will have this up on TolkienGuide tonight!. And, Wellinghall promptly provides. With their especial interest in Baynes, I do hope Wayne & Christina can get a look at the clip (for all it's worth). The estimate sounded reasonable enough.
