Actually I do have the sketches for this work and it is written in the back of the paper... 'Morgoth'... so I always thought Hickmann was trying to draw Morgoth. But then he does not have a crown with three silmarils and why is he holding a palantiri...

But i like the moustache!

Hey yes, I ordered about ten copies or so... at that incredible low prize. Then wrote to amazon to ask about what would happen, don't want them to charge me for 10 deluxe copies at the full prize... and they garanteed me that the price would stay the same! Once sold at that prize they don't change it.

But the amazon folks are sometimes smart, i did a similar order for the Companion and Guide at 0.98 GBP or something, and the bastards just cancelled it. And if you read their policy they can cancel the sale any moment... let us keep our fingers crossed!

Hey Beren and others,

the Amazon.uk price is currently £36.00 for the deluxe edition (lower than the £42 quoted earlier in this thread). My order from a few months ago still has the £0.80 each copy.

Any idea what price they are going to charge me? Didn't you negotiate something with Amazon, Beren for exactly this situation?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Very nice new profile! One of the great things about those profiles is that people can always learn something new from each other... Now again: I didn't now that Tolkien was also translated into Farsi, or Silesian! I guess that The Silmarillion isn't published in those languages, otherwise my "wanted"-list is a bit bigger now (I collect The Silmarillion in foreign languages)...
And I'm almost sure that Marathi is a hoax.

By the way, his living room looks like that of Henk Brassien...

Dior: I have been to my first Oxonmoot last year. Some people do visit some bookshops in town indeed. I am going again next september, so maybe we can do a bookshop-tour with a few collectors. Would be fun!
