Thanks to Jason Fisher for finding this and passing it on...

Tolkien Studies volumes 3 and 4 are currently on sale at Amazon.com (which doesn't happen often for journals like this one) so if you need a copy, now is a good time. These list for $60 each.

Having Carol sign/sketch in your copies of LT I and II will certainly set them apart a bit from the rest of the copies, but I don't think it adds significantly to the value of the books. Mostly because Carol hasn't done any other Tolkien illustrations that I know of, she was commissioned by Easton Press specifically for these - so she isn't well known or sought after in the Tolkien collecting circles (yet).

You can check out her website at http://www.carolheyer.com

On a side note, I have been talking with Easton Press and the Guide is fairly heavily updated already - I am working on a summary article to post in the news section with some comments and other interesting tidbits, hopefully this weekend or early next week.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but here are my thoughts:

The Complete Guide does not appear to be currently available from their website. However, Greg loves to sign things, so it probably wouldn't be too difficult to contact him (the right place to start would be to get in touch with SpiderWebArt.com, his official gallery) and see if you could have him sign a copy for you if you have an unsigned one. I wouldn't pay a high premium for his signature right now, but there is work involved in getting one, so it should add a bit to the book value.

It appears that you can download some Mythlore articles on Amazon.com now (for a whopping $9.95 each download). Here are two examples I ran across this afternoon.

http://www.amazon.com/C-S-Lewis-legac ... oks&qid=1201219287&sr=1-1

http://www.amazon.com/Roots-Branches- ... oks&qid=1201219287&sr=1-2

Not sure what the arrangements are with The Mythopoeic Society and the article authors.
