It would be unique, so I'll be very pleased. The whole point really is to get them to take these sort of events more seriously and if they state in future that a book is numbered, then they make sure that it is.

Like all UK books this is mentioned on Deagol's website.
http://www.tolkienbooks.net/html/other-sc_2.htm Interestingly The Hobbit included with this set has a green dyed top to the pages. As far as I am aware only the First Impression Hobbits and this Fourth Impression had green dye on the top of the pages. As the other books in The Tolkien Library also had blue and red dye on the top of the pages may explain why this this Hobbit was also dyed.

I have emailed Harper Collins asking for a replacement copy of the Book numbered by Alan Lee.
I need to use this route before Trading Standards and the Advertising Standards Authority (both now cover websites). If I get a reply from Harper Collins, I'll post it here.

Yes they did, sections of both The Hobbit and the Lord of The Rings jackets were shown.

Having watched the programme about 10 minutes are devoted to Tolkien with mention of The Hobbit and Tolkien's original illustrations and then a small interview with Alan Lee about illustrating The Lord of the Rings.
