Thanks for posting this

I have seen lots of the Bookcase Shop Taiwan "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" in US copied DJ's but did not know that they also ripped off "The Silmarillion".

Did the Tolkien Estate/George Allen & Unwin/Unwin Hyman/Harper Collins/Houghton Mifflin ever take action against this outfit?

Andrew

Another "Leather" Guild Lord of the Rings.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/The-lord-of-the ... 22eb&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

"You are looking at

The lord of the rings

By J.R.R. Tolkien

This is a Full leather bound edition, printed by Guild Publishing.

No damage to guilding what so ever.

spine undamaged, no corner knocks,

leather
in a good condition."

This is amazing as the book has no leather whatsoever.

"No mark ink markings on pages,

All my books are kept on there sides, so no shelf lean!

Book will be very well protected, when sent through post."

I think the "leather" may disappear in the post.

I am very disappointed that the general public can not tell if a book has a paper cover (as this one does) or a leather cover, surely anyone would know the difference, though this Hobbit Seller doesn't

The British Library is preventing anyone outside the UK from being able to play these files, though you can still see the rest of the page. Please contact me offline if anyone would like to discuss this issue further.

UK Copyright law for Sound Recordings is 50 years from the date of the recording, so no UK copyright exists on these recordings.

It looks like the British Library have entered into a deal with Linguaphone to use all their archive recordings and have only licensed it for the UK and for streaming not download only.

It appears that the British Library have now placed these recordings on their web site as they are out of copyright (1929).

I thought these were the only two recordings with Tolkien on them but they also list another two recordings (these seem to be in error as Tolkien does not appear to be on either recording). UPDATE The two recordings below are no longer listed as by Tolkien.

I thought this one might appeal to Stu as the books are upside down in the picture though the slipcase is the right way up

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/J-R-R-TOLKIEN-L ... b1cc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Though on my copy the original purchaser decided to put a lot of sellotape on the slipcase, it has not gone brown yet but it's only a matter of time

Anyone have any "miracle" cures for the evil that is called "sellotape" in the UK?
