You can even get it of for free as a PDF and you can search it.

Reading Beren's article I would not be surprised if the printed book he mentions is from this copy.

I just came from reading the new post on Tolkien Library concerning a pirate reprint of A Middle English Vocabulary

I think this book is out of copyright so cannot be described as a pirate reprint, so it is not a scam, just a very poor and expensive copy of the book (which you can get for free).

Thanks Khamul, it was you putting up the image that showed me it was different. I agree we should post the images so you can see them after eBay has deleted them.

Wellinghall,
I often think this was a genuine "Khamul, For heaven's sake what a pendant" moment...

I have edited my earlier post to include the fact that their are at least two fake letters in existence.

If you were to accept that the letters are real (by ignoring all the evidence) then why would Tolkien sign both copies, he would only send one to Pauline.

Khamul,

Yes, it is true. One an the same. I thought a name change was a long time comin', I'm not particularly good at coming up with names for myself and was never very happy with the former. We'll see how Elwë works out. I imagine it will go quite well, until I become consumed by my lust for a Silmaril, and ultimately ensnared by the doom of Feanor! (We'll focus on the good times, for now though.)

Regards,
Steve (my real name )

I think Khamul is already consumed by a lust for a Silmarillion, and ultimately ensnared by the doom of Feanor in collecting Silmarillions
