It is the same seller as the last 'picture' as the text is virtually identical but a different eBay account.

Fake 1

Fake 2

http://cgi.ebay.com/ANTIQUE-PENCIL-SK ... wings?hash=item45efe9d072

I'm going to report this seller as well to eBay.

I looked at the article and this Fellowship is the wrong impression, if it was one of the rare copies it would be the 9th instead of the 10th impression. This is a copy of A&U edition married with a Reader's Union dustwrapper and a fake signature. I reported this seller again to eBay.

With all these suspicious signatures, I'm beginning to wonder (as someone has already pointed out) whether it is entirely wise to discuss in such detail what's 'suspicious' about these signatures on this site. Hmmm...

I am going to ask Jeremy if it is possible to set up a private forum for discussing signatures and for him to approve members access to this forum, as I also think it is unwise to discuss this on the public facing side of the forum.

I don't think Alan is well known enough at the moment to have his signature faked and he did sign a lot of books at the COH launch, possibly was tired when he signed this one.

I'm struggling with this one. I click on the links in your post but they don't work, can you repost the eBay listing again as I can't find the item you are having problems with.

I saw that too. Delightful! I love the reindeer. But! - note that the lists are written in >gasp< - Blue Ink!!

Does this cast doubt on their validity?

I have not done any "deep study" on this but I don't think we want to start any rumours that the imaginery Dr Higgins knew the real Mrs Gasch, though they have both had fake letters addressed to them signed in blue ink.

The reindeer drawing is wonderful and this is just on a shopping list, Pauline really was a superb artist.
