On Saturday the 14th August 2010, I will be at the "Edge of the Wild Event" In Morton in Marsh, so am interested in who else from the forum may be attending as it would be great to meet up.

I also like to know if anyone is going to Mark Faith's Welsh event held on the same dates as it would be nice to get some feedback on both events from board members.

I apologise in advance for members outside the UK who probably can't make either event

Looking at the pictures, the label would appear to have been produced by the Magazine Publisher and not by anyone else.

I expect that the publishers sold identical slipcases for all the different magazines they produced except for the labels affixed to them, which is why they don't seem to fit very well in the box.

I have to admit to being disappointed with the size of the maps in the 50th Anniversary Edition and in particular the fold out map in the rear of the book as it is not the same as the original maps in the pre 1980's three volume books.

I would have liked to have the original sized bigger fold out maps in a Deluxe Edition.

I'd really like to see HarperCollins putting back the wonderful fold out large maps that were in the original books in any later printings of this book or any future Deluxe or Super Deluxe LOTR.

As I only have a limited space for books, I only have about 500 Tolkien Books, so I have had to go for quality rather than quantity, something that I'm sure that a lot of other board members have also done

I noticed this auction today

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JRR-Tolkien-Hob ... ks_UK&hash=item5888593a29

It is nice to be able to refer to such excellent resources as "J.R.R. Tolkien - A Descriptive Bibliography" by Wayne G. Hammond and Douglas Anderson and send them an email stating

"I noticed you listed this item as "leather bound", it is actually bound "in green imitation leather over boards" according to "J.R.R. Tolkien - A Descriptive Bibliography" by Wayne G. Hammond and Douglas Anderson Page 59, and is confirmed by looking at my copy.

Regards

Andrew"

I forgot to mention no dust wrapper
