Just wondering does anyone know anything about a Red Slipcase that contains the 6 Horn Book Magazines from 1938?

I have attached photos.

The slipcase does not seem to fit the magazines perfectly and I wonder was the slipcase privately made (possibly by a reference library?) or would it have been issued by the magazine publisher?

Any information would by greatly appreciated?

I just got my copy of Volume 6 last week. I gave up waiting for it to become available on Amazon and finally ordered it directly from WVU. It looks like WVU are only selling it directly now. All earlier volumes are now unavailable on Amazon (except through 3rd Party Sellers).

Hi Trotter,

I am not sure that garm's copy is from the run of 50 (which may not exist). His copy is Number 27, but it is probably from the original print run of 250. Garm can you confirm this?

In terms of priority, I think it may be as follows:

1. 1992 Copies Marked A-Z and the numbered 250 print run (numbered
on rear cover). Softcover.

2. The 50 print run (not seen and may not exist).

3. 2007 Un-Numbered print run of 100 copies and 12 Hardbound Copies
bound in Marbled Paper over boards.

Anyone with any different thoughts?

Indeed, there is a third impression from 1976.

With regards to The Hobbit with an Introduction by R.S. Fowler. I believe there were 3 printings (1972, 1974 and 1976).

I certainly have the 1972 and 1974 Printings and I will check later, but from memory, I think I have a copy printed in 1976 also.
