Deagol,

Great to see updates on the site again. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

Just a quick question on this one:

http://www.tolkienbooks.net/php/details.php?reference=27100

Is this a stock photo?

The edition I have (matching this ISBN) has a film cover and is a 1st Printing (Harpercollins Childrens Books). It has the sticker on it also. I ordered it a day or two after it was released. The stock photo on Amazon I think is incorrect. I have not seen a John Howe cover.

Here is what mine looks like:

eBay Item #221360072114

Have I got this wrong or am I confused?

Also there is another paperback not on your site (an international film tie in edition):

ISBN: 0007525508

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Hobbit-J- ... r=8-1&keywords=0007525508

Cover is identical to ISBN: 0007525494, but it is a smaller format book.

Thanks again for a fantastic site!

Hmmmm! Yep. Think I may need to attend Book Collectors Anonymous.

Book shows in stock and available at the Book Depository when I check. Also the UK site has the book about 20% cheaper than the US Site

Never used any sniping software (though was aware that it existed). Never investigated further.

If an auction ends at an inconvenient time - then so be it - I place the bid early. And at this stage for me - I seem to find very little of interest/books that I don't have on Ebay.
