Hi,

I recently bought a 1st edition LotR boxed set with 3 volumes 12th,9th and 9th Impressions. Books and DJ are very good ++ with no chips, sunning, and very minor rubbing. Box is good.

Price was £ 350 including the shippping to Germany.

Was the price fair?

Of course a nice 1st/1st set would have been nicer, but until this happens, this later set looks nice in my collection.

There has never been a box for these early impressions according to tolkienbooks.net

It seems, that there will be a new Hobbit, special edition next year by Harper Collins.

Hardcover: 320 pages
Publisher: HarperCollins; Deluxe edition edition (12 Sep 2013)
ISBN-10: 0007497911
ISBN-13: 978-0007497911

Very interesting will be the illustrations by Jemima Catlin.
