It is the same copy; signed & ('but'?) personalised by Priscilla. Orcraider is a v.g./reliable seller; someone just didn't pay up first time...

Now, now Qweniden --don't be too impatient; we're just not the fastest moving forum out there...

I don't know the answer (personally) to your question. Most of the books/items I do have were, in reality, fairly easy to get hold off --I've still to get all the hard stuff. I think the reality is, unless you take into account other factors (as you state) like condition, most Tolkien is fairly common; real rarities are quite uncommon I would suggest. But, like you, a few items haven't really come up in the condition I'd like; or at least not for the price I'd like to match!

Apologies for not answering this bruffyboy. I guessed nobody had any figures. I asked FS very recently about the 2004 Deluxe (which I just purchased). They replied: "From our database, I can tell you that it was published in January 2004, but I am afraid that I don't have any further details to offer you. Due to space restrictions we are unable to retain marketing literature dating back so many years." --that's all I'm afraid. Not sure if they'd have any information at all about anything before this...

(Is there a vol. 2 too?) There was a copy on eBay very recently (can't find it, must have gone) for Buy-It-Now (~)£12; better then $219!

Are you getting the RK 1st/4th for £30? That sounds awful good too. But, another RK will always come around (altho' doubtful at this price) --will the others? Sometimes it's worthwhile buying the rarities when the opportunity arises; you might not see another copy for a while. I'd buy RK personally...
