There is a spelling mistake in this letter. It's also very sharp for a typed letter of 1973; it may just be the way it appears on the screen though.

garm: what is someone trying to do then, if not imitate a signature? I must confess, I don't really understand "signing" on another's behalf.

Indeed. I can do without a book that costs £100, but is worth less than half that; although, we'll see what the final price is. I only need two volumes to complete my HoME set --& this ain't one of them!

£100 plus would be total nonsense. I just don't understand what's happening with middle-of-the-road HarperCollins editions at present. These cannot possibly be rare; scarce perhaps...
