I see the latest Hobbit movie tie-in paperback has been published. I've just ordered what appears to be a B-format version. I know there has also previously been an A-format equivalent, described as an 'International edition'. Anyone found one this year?

Also, for the past two years there has been a non-movie paperback with an illustrated cover, with the caption 'International children's bestseller'. Has anyone spotted an equivalent this year?

Thanks for the information, guys.

Speedy Hen seem to have an image of the single volume edition with the plastic cover, by the way.

Am I missing something? Isn't the 60th Anniversary LOTR boxset just a reissue of the 50th Anniversary version?

I've now received the latest offerings from HC, namely the pocket Farmer Giles, and the paperback Fall of Arthur.

In the latter case, I was thinking that it would nicely complete a run of all the major works in matching B-format paperbacks, but sadly not. It just seems to be the pages of the hardback bound in a soft cover, so it stands nearly an inch taller than my other paperbacks. A bit of a disappointment really.

Farmer Giles is very nice, though.

Deagol, tolkien.co.uk lists the standard hardback of Children of Hurin as having a publication date of 1 August 2013. I wondered at the time if this meant there was a second edition coming out, but it didn't seem to materialise. Do you have any thoughts on whether this date is significant? E.g. is it just a reprint of the first edition, or possibly an error on the website?
