I really love this website, great people also very well versed in Tolkien! Also I appreciate very much the willingness to answer some more mundane questions. I would like to know how to tell the difference of 1st/1st UK printings (I know at least some will be very evident in that they have a II somewhere on the copyright page). In particular The Return of the Shadow and The Treason of Isengard. Also, if possible. the relative monetary worth of each. Also in the previous post tolkienbooks.net was mentioned, and i can't express how much that site has helped and guided me, superb job!

Thank you, that is very nice to know (ease of getting a signature). On the same note, if you know, in the same sort of situation what are your opinions on the value of having Carol Heyer sign and possibly sketch in the Easton Press The Lost Tales 1&2 that she illustrated? Thanks a lot!

I appreciate very much everyone that has answered my questions or given their opinions. I have come across an Easton Press Complete Guide to Middle Earth, the particular copy I am looking at is signed by Greg Hildebrandt. Any opinions, or thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I didn't think so. Thanks, I do feel better that it's not an isolated case. What is the best way to protect the bookmark? or am i being way to anal about something that's not really that important?

I just thought, I live in the US! Does anyone know if HC will only ship replacements to the UK, like they did with the book? I guess this could create somewhat of a problem. Unfortunately I don't have any friends that live in or are visiting the UK.
