A friend of mine bought a book, in which he found a sign (see the picture). He asked me if the sign could be JRRT's. I don't know if JRR ever signed "John Reuel", so I think this may be a sign of his son, John Francis Reuel Tolkien, instead.

That is, if the seller finds anyone willing to pay 120k dollars...

However, this seller has the "excuse" of a misprint (even if I would rather call it a mis-bind) to try and justify an unjustifiable price. There's no excuse instead for this auction, where an italian first edition (usually sold for no more than EUR 150 if it's in a mint condition) is priced rather too much.

Maybe I don't remember well my Father Christmas Letters, or maybe I forgot something about the Tolkiens' family tree, but isn't Priscilla the author's daughter?
