I didn't want to start a new topic on this, but another Tolkien signature is on eBay:

Tolkien "messed up" signature

Looks pretty messed up and I can't find out if it is a genuine one. Looks quite good to me when you look to the form and writing of the letters but it's quite messed up for Tolkien's style... Also it hasn't got an ex-libris...
If it is a genuine one, it is a bargain! But I will not place a bid as I am very doubtful about this. Maybe Beren can find out

I almost forgot it until yesterday evening, when I got mail on Facebook about it...
But luckily I still had some while to toast on "The Professor!"

Well, it has not been very long since I discovered this website, must've been about the end of September.
But I have truly enjoyed the little time I've been here.
I think I'm going to stick along for a great while

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

It's exactly the same.
Seems like the seller wanted to make yet more money on a first impression of The Hobbit by sticking a signature on the title page. A bit greedy, isn't it?
On the other hand, it makes it also more appealing to collectors and a first impression with a signature of Tolkien (even when it's pasted on the book) is obviously much more attractive...
