I have just obtained a .pdf copy of the Bulletin of the Modern Humanities Research Association(n. 20, 1923) containing Tolkien's tribute to his supervisor at the OED, Henry Bradley. If anyone is interested, send me a private message and I will send you the file.

My copy of the first edition seems to be a variant of "State 1" with pages 406-407 and 428-429 in reverse order... So "State 1" but with pages 428-429 in reverse instead of 427-428. No replacements or corrections have been made whatsoever.

Does anybody know where I can get the text of Christina Scull's article "Dragons from Andrew Lang's retelling of Sigurd to Tolkien's Chrysophylax" (published in Leaves from the Tree, 1991)? I would be very grateful!

At first sight I thought they were just regular Complete HoMe volumes without jackets, but - compared to the other books on display - their width is too small to make that theory work... Very curious.
