Thanks for your very kind words.
Mr Hammond's book was what started me off - I name check him on most pages, so I guess I might have sold a few extra copies for him!

The decisions on the naviation arrows have been made - or rather made for me because my PHP and SQL skills weren't up to it.

I ended up splittng the 'books by or with contributions' from 'letters, art and miscellanea' because the sections were becoming too large - 2000-Present would have been over 80 entries - which slows down load times, especially for dial-up users. YES there are still quite a few of them around!

Have recently finished upgrading the Hobbit section - all new images and extra information in each entry. Will be doing LotR next, or maybe Silmarillions.

The Voyager books were very prominent in the shops from 2001 to maybe 2003, but faded away as stocks were exhausted - probably because they were not reprinted. There are still occasional copies (of the Tolkien titles) available if you hunt around. Minimal details of the four Tolkien titles in the series can be found at TolkienBooks.net, but you will find get a few extra details if you search using ISBNs at Amazon (or Google them).

Fellowship of the Ring
Two Towers
Return of the King
Silmarillion

Sorry about the lousy images - will get around to replacing them at some stage!

The same list of titles appears in all four books, even though they were published at different times, so I suspect that there were 36 books in the series.

I have a 15th Impression 1965.
The printers made a mess when they set up the type for the printing history on the Third Edition 1966:

What should have read as:

Fifteenth Impression 1965
Third Edition (Sixteenth Impression) 1966

was actually set down as:

Third Edition (Fifteenth Impression) 1966
Sixteenth Impression 1966

This error was never corrected.

The Third Edition includes four colour plates rather than one, and remained the same up to 1974 when they reset the text and added another colour plate.
