If you are going in the next ten days, this exhibition at the BL is interesting and thought-provoking:
http://www.bl.uk/events/terror-and-wonder--the-gothic-imagination

But if you aren't, you can still get the book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Terror-Wonder ... ords=terror+wonder+gothic

The BL and BM are both free, with no ticket required, for the permanent exhibitions (small at the BL, *huge* at the BM). It is often wise to buy a ticket beforehand for temporary exhibitions, but you can sometimes get them at the door.

The Cartoon Museum is in the same vicinity:

Very nice, Stu; and your presents also sound great, Jeremy.

It is indeed a shame, but the work has given him an interesting challenge - and done the same for his brother, who checked the translation.

The Silmarillion:

I received TH as a Christmas present in 1973, when I was 7; and bought LotR and QS in 1980. I still have these copies of TH and LotR, but I lost QS a few years ago
