I highly recommend this exhibition at the new Bodleian library in Oxford.

http://genius.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/

There is only one Tolkien piece - his artwork for the dust jacket of The Hobbit - but everything in there is very shiny (often literally as well as figuratively!)

I am now working my way through the catalogue - also very interesting.

JRR Tolkien, by Catharine R Stimpson. No 41 in the Columbia Essays on Modern Writers series, pub Columbia University Press, 1969. 48pp stapled booklet, previous seller's pencil notes on title page, somewhat worn with rusting staples.

Of Orc-rags, Phials, & a Far Shore: Visions of Paradise in The Lord of the Rings, by Bruce Palmer, pub Bran's Head, 1981. 32pp stapled booklet, very good / near fine, with previous seller's sticker on back cover.

Riverside Quarterly, Vol 4 no 4, March 1971, with ten-page article 'Animism and Magic in Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings"' by Patrick J Callahan. 76pp stapled magazine, very good, with staples that might just be starting to rust.

Riverside Quarterly, Vol 7 no 2, March 1982, with four-page article 'There but not back again: The road from innocence to maturity' by Christine Barkley and Muriel B Ingham. 64p stapled magazine, very good, but on very thin pages.

Thanks
