Wow - a good price for the seller . these normally go for £4-500. The bidding suggests there were two people who really pushed the price up. Must have really wanted a copy.
anyone want mine for £1,400 ?

I have been very suprised by the lack of 'good' books/items going up for sale paticularly in light of the Hobbit film being released.

I was anticipating a flooding of the market similar to the effect the LOTR film had but it appears not. Ebay numbers under a 'Tolkien' search has gone up to around 11,500 items from 10,500 and has maintained this over Christmas but in the main this has been the usual film tie in's etc.

Even abe books havent had a huge amount more put up for sale.

Whilst I have brought some items I wouldnt say it is a huge amount more than usual.

Anyone else noticed this /thoughts ?

Yes I had noted that too in various auctions this year.
I am wondering if it is when Ebay themselves end the auction. So in this example maybe they ended it as were not happy re payment terms?
Also under completed items it often gives a buy it now figure it sold at but when you actual go into the item it gives a lower figure. Assume this is a best offer sale rather than a buy it now but very confusing.
