You're definitely right about the 1st impression and I know that is much more collectible for the reasons you've explained.
It is my intention to buy also a 1st impression of this beautiful edition, but... now I just want a copy which matches the style of the 3rd and 4th impressions of LoTR and Silmarillion, that's all. We can say that is a "look" question more than a "collectible" one
