Hello everyone,
I am resuming this old thread since I'd like to have your opinion on the authenticity of the bookplate attached below.
The bookplate looks genuine to me, but I thought that several expert eyes could spot possible faults

The Methuen Silmarillion was listed as in "immaculate" conditions, but I see there are some stains/discolourations on the front cover between the gilded stamp and the top edge.
Definitely not worth that price in my opinion

The original price was £100, while £250 was for the 1992 Deluxe Illustrated Edition of LoTR limited to 250 copies (another set that I'd like to own...)
I agree with Khamul, £750 is too much.

based on the last ebay auctions, which I think reflect the "true" average price, I would say between £400 and £600, depending on the conditions.
