This one is unusual, I was looking at the pictures and the white box at the bottom looked strange, price-clipped means removing the price, are there words for deleting bar-codes?
This could be a printing error and the bar-code was not applied

It's the Guild Publishing edition, so possibly didn't have a bar code.

Book club editions sometimes lack bar codes or jacket prices because they're sold outside of the mainstream market. And yet, we have the first printing of the Guild Publishing edition (1987), and a bar code is present!
