Every time I see this listing it annoys me. I know the 1978 Guild Editions take "hideous faux leather" to new levels, but the artistically non-matching and irrelevant facsimile Dust Jacket just serves to make matters worse. Two quid book at best.
Claims to be 1961, but the 14th impression was actually 1963. Also, always a bit suspicious when a book is missing the copyright page. Presumably ex-Libris...

The seller has an annoying bit of moving text on the listing stating that it is Tolkien's original cover, no it is not, that now belongs to the Bodleian Library in Oxford, and at the moment is on tour in New York.
A lot of changes were made on the cover, by 1963, from Tolkien's original cover.

Indeed, Tolkien write a Testament. But I believe that selling is illegal. Perhaps someone had to advice Abebooks.
Furthermore, this edition of the Silmarillion dont worth that price.

I see nothing wrong with this auction - Tolkein wrote almost exclusively about ensnaring trout. Not to be confused with Tolkien who, of course, wrote about Hobbits'n'that.
