Hello,
I was wondering what the value of a very good/near mint 1981 edition of The Silmarillion (Guild Publishing, red and gold cover) would be? Thanks

Hi mini_monkey,
I don't see any obvious ones for sale online right now, but in general these seem to show up for perhaps $10-20 if you look around for them. Not really an uncommon book. Perhaps one of the Silmarillion specialists will contradict me about how hard this one is to find...

Like almost all standard, & therefore common, editions of The Silmarillion, these Guild copies aren't worth much; or at least it should be possible to pick up copies, theoretically, for as little as they are listed for on auction sites like eBay i.e. anywhere from £1/$1. I wouldn't personally pay any more than ~£10 for a copy; less for a later impression. As Urulókė states.
