Thought I'd resurrect this old thread...

This book isn't much discussed, as we never see the damn thing come up for sale very often. However, recently, Jlong made mention of it in the Lucky finds thread. There is also a link within the present thread to a previous discussion of GA&U & related matters, which is pretty interesting to re-read (> Books on George Allen, GA&U and Unwin Brothers).

Anyway, what does the forum think about this price?

They appear so rarely that I think it will sell.

Here is another (expensive copy) for sale on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listin ... collsguid-20&linkCode=osi

Would love to own this book, I'm just unwilling to pay such a high price.

Mmmm listing removed - looks like someone negotiated a deal to me.
Personally agree Jlong £300 too much. I might be tempted at £50 or maybe a little more if feeling flush but not £100's. That being said its a shame no reprints as wouldnt mind reading

If I ever lost my copy I would pay plenty to replace it. A very special book.

The Amazon link has gone. Was it the same copy Jlong, or another? How much was it listed at?

How much would you be willing to pay, Deagol, for a replacement copy, if you carelessly lost your copy? (--which seems highly unlikely, I might add. )

I'd have winced a lot, but I may well have been tempted by the ebay copy.

The Amazon link was $400 or $500; I can't remember the exact amount.
