Hi all,

in my puttering around (updating guide pages) I noted that HarperCollins has actually assigned separate ISBNs for the regular deluxe slipcased edition of Tales of the Perilous Realms and the copies signed by Alan Lee.

Does anyone have one of the signed copies? Does it actually have a separate ISBN inside, or is this just a mechanism on the webstore (which uses ISBN as product numbers) to separate the two?

Note that they are both listed at the same price.

Yes it does.
It has the 978-0-00-728618-8 number then a seperate line line with 978-0-00-723715-9 (Signed Copy)

I believe that both books are identical, in that both ISBNs are listed in each book. The only differentiator is the paper insert which differs between versions. A signed "unsigned" copy would be identical to the officially signed version.

Stu is correct, you did get a flyer with the book and that states it is a signed copy, which is the only difference in the books apart from Mr Lee's signature.

Thanks guys. Not sure if the slip of paper is worth the price difference to me, but there are still £60 copies of the signed edition available from tolkien.co.uk (and signed copies on eBay, etc.)
