I think this is interesting. Ends tomorrow: eBay Item #321856127140
Very interesting. At first glance, I would think Tolkien designed the header, it very much resembles his calligraphic writing as seen in the Father Christmas letters.
I'm not in any way connected with this seller...
... but I was genuinely surprised at this going for £100 with only one bidder:

The bidder was me!
Received the book today & it's in great shape. Book is "Fine", with pages still clinging together from having not been opened/browsed. Slipcase a little handled but nothing significant. All-in-all a decent price I thought. The seller also had vol. III up for the same price that failed to sell with no bidders. Now re-listed with £79.99 starting price:

I'd suggest a pretty decent price for anyone still searching for one of these.

I have not seen this before, a review copy of Farmer Giles of Ham from 1949. The item for sale looks like it has a water damage, which is a shame.
I think publishers would offer a bit more today when sending out a review copy

Here is an odd item. The postcard found at the back of fireplace. Ok it is addressed to Tolkien and no doubt he handled it but is it worth more than a nominal amount? Not for me but maybe others think differently?
