As Trotter says, copyright is a tricky one here; and with others of Tolkien's works I've seen on-line.
However, the basis of theses sites' claim that these works of Tolkien's to be in the public domain seem to me to be questionable: >Copyright-evidence: Evidence reported by Pierre Custodio for item oxford poetry1915 June 6, 2008: no visible notice of copyright; stated date is 1915.< Now how many works of that era have a visible notice of copyright?
