Cheers for posting that up. (Apologies for meddling with your posted image --I reduced the size as it was really wide on my screen compared to the posts above it, & I hate scroll bars! ) As was mentioned in the other thread, it seems to be important what you are accessing the internet with --laurel said when he used eBay Mobile or Kindle the final price was visible (--and you're using your iPad, yes?) Bloody annoying either way.

I have started working on a tool to help fix this problem. You can run a quick and dirty test at the following URL to see what price an item actually sold for (best offer or not) as long as eBay still has it in their database (90 day window). I will be adding a lot of bells and whistles over the next few days.

Thanks, that works much better than ebay.

Thanks Urulókë! I tried that HoME set too, & got the price as Trotter posted. I tried another item though & it didn't work...

eBay item 370706810228

could not find a completed eBay item with the item number 370706810228.
It finished in early March & is still there to be viewed...

Hi Khamûl,

that is an odd listing - it does not show up in eBay's completed listings database (but does show up in item status so I will add that data to the call response as well, but it doesn't help here.)

The completed item API is relatively new, and not documented well by eBay. Other people have trouble with it as well. My best guess is that the item was LISTED back in December, so is "older than 90 days" by that count. Really, probably just a bug on their side for this one API call. I will ask around and see if anyone has any hints.

More items that work/don't work will help too, so if you have some test items that you tried and want to share, please let me know. I will start another thread elsewhere for this topic so we don't polute Wonders any more.

Hi Khamul,

for item ID 370706810228 (the Lovecraft postcard) the final accepted offer was $725. The API path to get this data is convoluted, so I haven't updated the online tool yet, but I am working on it as we speak.

Thanks Jeremy! Interesting price too. I'll be taking a note of that...

OK, the API calls are updated, and appear to be cascading the way I want to get all the relevant data I want to show. The cosmetics are cleaned up a bit too.

Please let me know if anything is broken (unexpected results, etc.) or if you have any requests. I think it will get the right results for all ended auctions and store items now, so let me know if you try an item and don't get something that makes sense. It may not have everything you want for an active auction, but for now you can just watch the item on eBay.

eBay item ebaytest.html

I will be plugging this code into the main site (automatically getting data for mentioned eBay items in the forums, etc.) over the weekend.
