Remy - Thanks for the info.

I have another question I would appreciate some assistance with:

Sometime in 1973-74 Allen & Unwin started to laminate the dustwrappers on the 3 volume hardback LotR to produce a harder wearing gloss finish.

FR - TT - RK

I am trying to find out when the lamination was introduced, so would appreciate hearing if anybody has some copies dating from 73-74. The lamination is easily spotted on the flaps of the jacket - sometimes it covers half of the flaps, sometimes just a few mm. It may have been introduced a little later for the Fellowship than for the other two volumes.

Hi Deagol,

The 1973 FOTR, TT and ROTK (7th Impressions, 1973 -3rd DJ Design) that I have all have the laminate.

Best Wishes.
