My copy of the 1963 3 volume Deluxe LOTR is very fragile and I was looking for a means to give the boxset some additional protection. The slipcase is splitting and has quite a bit of damage to the excellent Pauline Baynes illustrations.
David Miller at the Tolkienbookshelf.com designed a clamshell case for me that covers the original slipcase and books. I was very pleased with the results and attach some pictures.
