Silmarillion - signed [GA&U employee copy]

I have recently brought a signed Silmarillion after many years of hunting.

Inside was a slip of paper dated Sept 1977 to sellers father who used to work for GA&U asking him to pay £2.48 for the signed copy.

From this it is safe to assume signed copies were sold to staff at the time.

Has anyone any idea how many of these were signed in this manner for publishers staff? .

Has anyone else got such a slip in there signed copies?

Thanks

I bought an identical copy, with same note & same price etc. It was discussed in an old thread; think I posted pictures. Will find the link in a bit...

Laurel, can I contact you privately (via PM function on this forum) for some images? Was it that £414 copy you bought? Like you I'd like an idea of how many were signed. Unlike other CT books, these ones are flatsigned; I assume CT did this in person at GA&U's offices.
